At the next meeting of Maidenhead and District Friends of the Earth, Simon Bond of the Quakers (Society of Friends) will report on a recent conference called 'A Zero Growth Economy: what would it mean for us all', held at Friends House in London, where speakers included Miriam Kennett (director of the Green Economics Institute) and David Green (head of research at Oxfam). Among the topics will be growth and climate change, resource depletion, peak oil, economic development, life satisfaction and life expectancy, and alternative ways to measure real prosperity and progress.

This will be followed by a discussion on green economics.
